Wil Myers endured the worst season of his professional career in 2011. While it's still early, this year is shaping up to be on the opposite end of the spectrum.

MLB.com's No. 19 prospect collected four hits and drove in a career-high five runs Saturday to lead the Double-A Northwest Arkansas Naturals to an 8-7 win over the Corpus Christi Hooks.

After the Naturals fell behind, 3-0, in the first inning, Myers tied the game in the bottom half with his third homer of the season. He doubled and scored in the third, then added RBI singles in the fourth and eighth, falling a triple shy of the cycle.

"I just tried to stick with my approach," Myers said. "I tried to pull too many balls earlier in the season instead of going right back up the middle with the pitch."

Myers has gotten off to a much better start in his second season in the Texas League. The 21-year-old catcher-turned-outfielder did not hit his third homer last year until June 13 and drove in eight runs in the entire month of April. He's already batting .333 with three homers and seven RBIs in nine games.

The biggest difference is that Myers is healthy, having battled a staph infection in his knee that cost him more than a month last year.

"It feels good, I'm excited to get off to a hot start," he said. "Last year, I couldn't get into the rhythm of playing; and this year, I'm feeling a lot better."

Myers had driven in four runs on six previous occasions, most recently on Aug. 31, 2010 with Class A Advanced Wilmington. The 2009 third-round pick was unaware of his personal feat, just happy to help the Naturals snap a four-game losing streak.

"It's definitely cool, I didn't know," Myers said. "It was cool to get those five RBIs. I couldn't do it without my teammates getting on base."

Christian Colon, the Royals' No. 9 prospect, slugged a solo homer to break a sixth-inning tie.

Jonathan Singleton, the Astros' top prospect, reached base three times and scored twice for the Hooks.
